Further information
The mountains offer extraordinary experiences in winter, but exploring them safely requires preparation, awareness and an understanding of the risks involved.
Winter Safety Skills by Mmove is a one-day introductory course dedicated to safety in snow-covered mountain environments, snow science and essential avalanche rescue techniques.
Accompanied by a certified Mountain Guide, you will learn about the snowpack, understand the factors that influence avalanche danger and discover how to interpret the information provided in avalanche bulletins.
The day begins with a theory session lasting approximately one hour, covering the essential concepts for exploring the winter mountains with greater awareness.
We will then head out onto the snow, reaching the training area with ski touring skis, a splitboard or snowshoes after a short approach of approximately 20 minutes.
This is where the hands-on experience begins. Your Mountain Guide will demonstrate the correct use of an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe, explaining the main avalanche search and rescue techniques.
Every participant will have the opportunity to practise through realistic exercises, experiencing the different stages of an avalanche rescue operation firsthand.
We will finish the day with an aperitif, a chance to share the experience and discuss what you have learned with your guide.
No previous experience is required. The course is designed for anyone wishing to discover the fundamentals of winter mountain safety or strengthen their existing knowledge.
An educational experience combining theory, practical training and a culture of prevention. Because enjoying the mountains also means learning to respect them.
